Below are the most common visa types for foreign nationals entering Vietnam in 2025, according to Vietnam's Immigration Law.

1. Tourist Visa – Code DL

      ✔️ For international visitors entering Vietnam for tourism and sightseeing. 

      ✔️ Common duration: 1 month – 3 months, single or multiple entries. 

      ✔️ Can be an electronic visa (e-visa) if nationality conditions are met.

2. Business Visa – Codes DN1, DN2

      ✔️ For foreign nationals working with businesses in Vietnam (without a labor contract). 

      ✔️ DN1: For working with Vietnamese legal entities. 

      ✔️ DN2: For working with foreign businesses in Vietnam. 

      ✔️ Maximum duration: 12 months.

3. Investment Visa – Codes ĐT1 → ĐT4

      For foreign investors in Vietnam.

      Classified by investment amount:

            ✔️ ĐT1: Above 100 billion VND – Maximum duration: 5 years. 

            ✔️ ĐT2: 50 – 100 billion VND – Duration: 5 years. 

            ✔️ ĐT3: 3 – 50 billion VND – Duration: 3 years. 

            ✔️ ĐT4: Below 3 billion VND – Duration: 12 months

4. Labor Visa – Codes LĐ1, LĐ2

      ✔️ LĐ1: For foreign workers with a work permit. 

      ✔️ LĐ2: For foreign workers who do not require a work permit. 

      ✔️ Duration: Maximum 2 years. 

      ✔️ Generally requires a work permit or a confirmation of non-requirement for a permit.

5. Family Visit Visa – Code TT

      ✔️ For spouses and children of foreign nationals legally residing in Vietnam. 

      ✔️ Usually issued alongside primary visas like LĐ, ĐT, LS... 

      ✔️ Duration: Based on the sponsor’s visa (up to 12 months).

6. Study/Internship Visa – Codes DH, PV1

      ✔️ DH: For students or interns at licensed educational institutions. 

      ✔️ PV1: For permanent foreign correspondents. 

      ✔️ Duration depends on the educational program and accompanying documents.

7. E-visa

      ✔️ Available for nationals of over 100 eligible countries. 

      ✔️ Apply online, no need to visit the embassy.
